This is the picture story of our trip to Las Vegas this June. This is when Griffin proposed. This is also the Reader's Digest version. More posts will be coming if you would like to read more about his proposal. :)

It all started when we needed to drive down to Vegas to look at housing and take care of some things for culinary school. So we decided to make another epic trip out of it. And of course, we had to take another picture at the Arizona sign on the way there!
Griffin surprised me the night we got there and took me to the Burger Bar again, just like last time. It was glorious even the second time. :)
After the Burger Bar, we continued to recreate our first trip, or rather, Griffin did. He was quite the planner. :) It was blissful as we stood close and watched the fountains. Afterwards he looked me in the eye and asked if he could take me up to the temple, making the request in a similar way that he had the last time. I of course obliged, and we drove up to the temple. He proposed and it was perfect. (For the full story, ask Melissa and she'll be happy to fill you in--plan on a few hours though.) I love this man so much. He always brings joy to my heart, butterflies to my stomach, and tears of happiness to my eyes.
The next day we went to my culinary school, and I got to try on my new chef coat! We had fun telling the admissions lady Tauny about our news. She said, "I knew it from way back in February!"
The next few days we spent looking at various homes for rent, spending every moment together, celebrating our good news, and just enjoying the vacation away from work and worries. This evening, we went to a restaurant near Caesars Palace called Serendipity 3. It was an amazing meal and an even crazier dessert. It was even better because we had watched the movie "Serendipity" together the week before. :) We also decided we were especially lucky to have an Engagement Trip. Everyone should get one of these!
This was awesome. We were walking the strip one night, just enjoying the atmosphere, and we came upon this wizard. He was painted all in white and posing for the passersby. Having seen similar performers in downtown Portland all the time, I had grown to appreciate his craft. I decided to give him a tip and did so, but as I walked away, he motioned back to me. He wanted to take a picture with me! I not only got to stand on the box with him but I also got to hold his staff too! Pretty epic moment!
This picture was taken on our last day in Vegas before returning back to the grind. We spent the day looking at a few more houses and then ate at what is now both of our favorite restaurant: Sweet Tomatoes. It was glorious. And afterwards, we were lucky enough to head back home to Provo at a decent hour, this time getting back around 11PM instead of super early in the morning like last time. All in all, it was an amazing trip--but mostly because it finally made our desire to spend the rest of our lives together official. :)
